About Jubail City
Jubail Governorate, located in the Eastern Province, has a relatively high population, as it reached about 380 thousand people in 2010 AD, and Jubail is located in the eastern region of the Kingdom north of Dammam and has maritime borders from the north and east and is about 85 km from Dammam on the coast of the Arabian Gulf.
The governorate is divided into three parts, namely Jubail Industrial City, which contains Jubail I and Jubail II, in addition to major factories and a modern residential area and is managed by the Royal Commission, and this part is the highest in terms of growth, reaching 21 percent since the seventies of the last century.
The second part is the country and is about 15 km from Jubail Industrial and its residents are from the people of Jubail since ancient times and the last part, which is the third, is Jubail Tahlia and was established especially for desalination employees.
Historians disagree about the reason for naming the city, between those who believe that it is a modern Arabic designation, which is a diminutive of the word mountain in reference to the small mountain that was located in the north of the eastern town of Jubail, and those who believe that it is a word of Phoenician origin and was attributed to Byblos located near Arad and Tyre in the northern Mediterranean, and for its climate, it is hot and humid in summer and rainy and cold in winter.
